FleishmanHillard in Detroit Dodges for a True Underdog Story

Often in our field, we are able to do amazing things for our clients. We have the unique opportunity to share their stories with the world and truly make an impact on a global scale.
But at the end of the day, it’s not all about what you’ve accomplished, it’s about who you’ve lifted up, and who you’ve made better.
FleishmanHillard’s Detroit office participated in the Boy Scouts of America’s Second Annual Dodgeball Tournament in the heart of downtown Detroit. This fun and active spin on dodgeball provided much needed funding for the Boy Scouts of America’s (client) outreach programs that provide character development advice, leadership skill coaching, and instills lifelong values in over 4,000 of Southeast Michigan’s most socioeconomically disadvantaged youth.
Through the team’s diving, dipping, ducking and dodging, we were able to help raise nearly $40,000 for the young scouts. The funds raised allowed 100 percent of Troop 1315 to attend summer camp free of charge, where these kids were able to create lifelong memories and build essential life skills they would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience.
In addition to being able to give back to our immediate community, the Detroit office had the opportunity to come together as a team in a non-traditional fashion. While not one team member would include rock star athlete under their experience, there was no hiding the teamwork and camaraderie that took place on the court. Some dodged and others cheered, but our colleagues were in full support of the team and the cause.
